For Lindsay Corby, winemaking began long before it became a profession. His earliest experiments—crafting fruit wines while still in high school—sparked a curiosity that would grow into a lifelong passion. That passion deepened in 1985 when he set foot in his first vineyard, discovering the beauty, complexity, and science behind grape growing and fine wine production.
Driven to understand the craft from the ground up, Lindsay pursued formal studies in Viticulture and Wine Science at Charles Sturt University. His career that followed took him through every corner of the industry—cellar door, laboratory, and vineyard management—shaping a rare and holistic understanding of the entire “paddock to palate” journey.
In 2001, Lindsay turned to academia, developing and teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in viticulture and oenology at La Trobe University. Managing the university’s vineyard and guiding student winemaking projects allowed him to stay intimately connected to the seasons, the vines, and evolving industry trends.
His story took a new chapter in late 2008, when the opportunity arose to craft wines at Bianchet in the Yarra Valley. With characteristic passion, he made swift decisions, winding down his university role and preparing for a new vintage season—one that would mark the beginning of his enduring connection with the Bianchet estate.
Today, Lindsay brings decades of experience, deep technical knowledge, and a heartfelt love for the craft to Casa Bianchet. Every bottle reflects his commitment to authenticity, quality, and the joy of sharing beautifully made wine.
Lindsay looks forward to welcoming you to the estate and sharing the fruits of his labour—one meal & glass at a time.
